Barbara McKell has dedicated her life to transformational arts. She is a seeker and a visionary artist who embraces life with an open heart. She has spent the past ten years of her life studying various forms of Energy Medicine. She sees a world where all forms of natural healing will be accepted and practiced as part of normal life.

Barbara is an Intuitive Healer, Usui/Tibetan and Karuna (R) Reiki Master. She is a certified Sound Healer and a member of the Sound Healers Association. Soul Connection supports students and the Reiki Community by facilitating a monthly Reiki group meeting. Anyone who has received Level I Reiki training or higher is welcome to participate in the group meetings which are held on the second Wednesday of the month in Guelph Ontario. There are many forms of Reiki being used today for transformation and healing. They may go under different names but they all connect to the unlimited supply of spiritually guided life force energy. The gentle hands on approach of Reiki creates a deep relaxation response so that the body can easily access its innate healing ability.

Sound Healing, is the use of sound to create balance and alignment in: the physical body, the energy centers called "chakras", and/or the etheric fields. The sound may be applied by an instrument or by the human voice. Sound Healing is a vibrational therapy that can be incorporated into energy medicine practices. The use of sound and music for healing is ancient and can be found in many spiritual and sacred traditions. Sound Healing is a relatively new modality in the traditional and complementary healing arts. Sound encompasses virtually all aspects of the auditory phenomenon-- music, drumming, nature sounds, electronic sounds, vocal sounds.Everything is vibration. Even what may appear to be solid matter is in a state of vibration. This is not a new idea. Mystics have known this for many a millennium, but now scientists are beginning to understand this and agree with this. If we were somehow able to create the correct resonant frequency for something that was vibrating out of harmony and we were able to project this frequency into that area, one could conceivably create a condition of healing by restoring the imbalanced area back to its own resonant frequency. Your body and all its parts are like some wondrous orchestra that is playing a beautiful symphony when we are healthy. If one player in the orchestra begins to play out of tune, playing the wrong notes and the wrong timing pretty soon that begins to affect the whole orchestra. This is what happens in the body when one part of the body is not in harmony. Currently, our medical approach to dealing with this problem is simply to either to sedate it with drugs or to remove the part that is no longer functioning properly. But what if we were to simply re-frequence the out of tune, cell, organ, or entire body? There are many wonderful methods to accomplish this. Barbara uses the clear tones of the seven singing crystal bowls to align and harmonize the subtle energy bodies. She incorporates, voice, drums, tuning forks, chimes and bells into her practice to affect deeper levels of healing. Barbara does private sessions, conducts Sound Healing workshops and Healing concerts with the Singing Crystal Bowls.

As our consciousness changes we begin to look for a vacation that allows us to ‘get in touch with’, rather than wanting to ‘get away from’. Reiki Kids is a program Barbara created to give children an opportunity to connect with the creative aspects of Reiki. Children learn the basics of the energy field and creative energy work. How to use Reiki in their art, music, for plants, animals, themselves and to help others. Barbara's classes are fun, interactive and created for all ages.
